| Hello, I am culturing MCF-7 for the first time. I used DMEM with 10% FBS, antibioics, NEAA to culture the cells upon thawing. I obtained the cell line from ATCC. Unfortunately, ATCC recommends Sodium pyruvate (1mM) which I somehow skipped. I detected the problem next day after thawing and added sod. puruvate to the cultures in 1mM conc. and cultured the cells in 6 well and 12 well plates. I made sure that the dead cells and debris was removed. Now, am really scared as to whether I'll be able to revive my cell lines at all. Few cells did stick to the wells after the initial thawing. Have any of you faced similar trying situation? Kindly help, if any of you have any knowledge about the survival chances of this line. Thank you, |
