| The fields you have described are very, very broad. I would advise you to get in touch with lab heads at the University you are applying to to get an idea of what they actually do. I'm not sure I understand correctly but do you need to write 3 different proposals? I assume you don't have a PhD supervisor yet since you say you're applying to the program??? Unless writing these proposals is a purely academic exercise, I would try to identify some faculty who are working on things you are interested and go talk to them about possibly working in their lab. Remember that in order to actually do any of the experiments that you put in your proposal you will need a laboratory to work in, so actually you need to know who's lab you're going to work in before you can write a realistic proposal. For instance it would be a little crazy to propose doing things like making mutant mouse lines to study cancer if the lab you're in doesn't have access to transgenic technologies. Best of luck! |
