Default mosquito repellant

hey everyone,

one of my friends is planning on buying a mosquito repellant. It works on the principle of attracting mosquitoes with a certain wavelength and when it comes close to the machine it is sucked in by a fan and it dies. He told me the wavelength could be between 300-400 nanometers (which is UV light in the electromagnetic spectrum). I am no graduate from university, i'm just going to school, but we did learn in physics that UV waves cause skin cancer. Does anyone know if a product like this has a posibillity of bringing you any kind of danger?

thanks

Hello there!

Is the light source hidden from view? If it is, then I wouldnt worry.

If it is constantly being projected at nearby people, then I would be cautious.

Hi
Well in order to place the product in market the supplier usually take all the precautionary measure. please do check that it has the same princiles of mosquito attraction or some other. yes if it is UV based and that is also exposed to you then it could be dangerous and it can even cause sken cancer and strong irritation of skin.

so please do check it again

regards
aftab
