Question Cells fixation

Hi!

Does somebody knows if cells can be stained after fixation with 2% paraphormaldeyde solution?

Thanks!

Stained with what?

We fix with 4% PFA and immunostain all the time. DNA stains should also work well. PFA disrupts membranes, so membrane stains may not work, or may work in a funky manner. Organellar-specific stains (i.e. lysotracker, mitoctracker) probably wont work, as most of them are attracted to the organelle by ion potentials or pH gradients - both of which are lost during fixation.

We stain with 2% PFA and staining would be for see the membrane so probably won't work

Thank your very much for your reply.
