I am trying to perform sequencing on ABI 3130 sequencing using Bigdye v3.1. I want to do Ethanol/EDTA precipitation. The protocol says "...add EDTA to each well, make sure EDTA reach the botton of well/tube, then add ethanol and invert to mix..." Is it possible to first add EDTA to ethanol and then add the master mix each well?
What is wrong with adding EDTA and ethanol at the same time? Your response will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi guys i have extracted genomic DNA from various cell lines....kit i used had an optional step for RNAse treatment that i skipped. after taking OD at Nanodrop...i got a good yield about 350 ng/ul but the ratio of 260/280 is around 2.05, indicating presence of RNA in my genomic DNA sample. I have to use this genomic DNA for PCR amplification ( 700 Bp) ..so should i proceed with it?? let me know if i will face problems later on....

i realise this is a serious forum but i really need advice from some people who know what they are talking about so i hope u will forgive my intrusion and give this question a serious answer ( this is NOT a joke question )

i need to know what the chance is of the police forensics finding an identifiable dna profile from a small piece of hash that has been handled by someone.........the piece is only the size of a medium sized coin so we are not talking serious crime here but unfortunatey the country this has occured in does not issue a small fine and wave u on your way.the police are now involved and are saying they are sending it to be dna tested

i believe the hash was also handled by another person after my friend touched it,but this person is not in the frame

any advice given here is most appreciated......thank u

For my ap biology lab i extracted dna from strawberries, bananas, oranges (2) each... i was wondering how do i show my data in a graph should i be a line graph or a bar graph? how should i label the graph??
thanks so much, the experiment was fun, but i am stuck though on the graphs..
