Hi, I was hoping I could get some input on different career pathways.

Currently I am looking at studying a Masters coursework in either biochemistry, molecular biology or biotechnology and have a few questions (my Bachelor is in Exercise Science. I don't like the Masters of Clinical Exercise Science program which is offered in Australia, and also want to diversify my skills).

In your opinion, which one of these three fields has the best job prospect, or best future for progress/promotion and opportunity? I have searched many job sites but can't find too many jobs specifying these job titles (obviously I am reading through this forum also).

What are the practical differences between biotechnology and molecular biology? I was told that biotechnology is more industry applied, and molecular biology is more research based. Is this accurate? I've read the actual definitions, but still am having trouble conceptualising this, and what I would be doing in either field, or where I be working.

I have emailed several faculty staff members at numerous universities but most come back with fairly ambiguous descriptions of what you will end up doing in either of the three industries. I was hoping to work more in some human/medical area, rather than plants.

Any advice or input is appreciated, thanks
