I am currently a junior and I am considering graduate work (crossing my fingers that I'll do doctoral work soon), however, the subfields of psychology seem just a bit intimidating as I am considering this process of applying. I am interested in mood disorders, and all kinds of sleep research. Also, I find that most of my interests in psychology gravitate towards clinical, cognitive, and some neuroscience. I know that I cannot see myself in fields such as industrial/organizational psych or social psych. Moreover, I do not see myself going into neurocognition or cognitive psychology because, even though I enjoy these subjects, I cannot imagine myself working in these fields.

I hope to practice, teach, and do research someday. Does anyone have any suggestions about fields I should be looking into? I am currently thinking about clinical neuropsychology, but what exactly does that entail and what courses should I be looking into as an undergraduate (I haven't gotten any solid answers from advisers or fellow students). How does it compare to the training other clinical psychologists receive? Or should I be pursuing a degree in clinical psychology?

...though saw eye doc today. No answer for us? Hi out there. I posted a question over the weekend about my 18 yr. old son having a prob. with pressure and irritation in his right eye. Apparantly it started last Thur. and he did not tell me til' Sat. Anyways, over the weekend, he started feeling the pressure feeling in his cheek and head area (side of the head near, but not on temple). I told him maybe it was sinus pressure, because he had been blowing out a little yellow stuff, not a lot, but some. He took a Sudafed and after a while said the pressure was better. Monday morning I called his eye doc. and got him in for today (Wednesday). Then last night, he started having a new symptom which really scared him and me both. He told me that the cheek and head area were kind of numb feeling and tingly. The first thing I did was to check his pupils, which looked fine, and asked him if he had any nasuea or vision problems, or felt dizzy. He said no to all of them. But I was still worried so I called medical exchange and spoke to the dr. on call. She said since he was showing no signs of a "life threatening" situation, it could prob. wait til' tomorrow, as she put it. She said if he developed any new worrisome symptoms though, to take him to the ER. So we decided to wait it out til' today, knowing he had an appt. with the eye doc. We felt that going to the ER unnecessarily was prob. not a good idea with the flu being so bad here. Anyways, the eye doc. dilated his pupils and said he could find nothin unusual. He also rechecked his vision, even though my son had been in about 3 mos. earlier and gotten new glasses. The only thing the doc. said that concerned him during today's exam was that his sight had worsened since the last time he was in. He thought the sinusitis might be possible, so he told us to maybe try his ENT doc. As luck would have it, they had a cancellation and we're going tomorrow afternoon, but my mind is still so uneasy about these last few days. When I posted my original question regarding this a few days ago, I had a answer from a Texas RN. If you read this, I would appreciate any feedback/advice again. I would appreciate advice/feedback/thoughts from anyone who might know why someone would have eye pressure and irritation, followed by head and facial pressure, and then head and facial numbness/tingling.
