I have streptomyces cultures and want to identify their strains..... right now I am using 16s primers for its identification.... which according to you is better primer for identifying streptomyces...16s or 16s-23s?????

for a detailed info:
using 16s primers i had amplified and sequenced streptomyces genomic DNA.... but after BLASTing the sequence it showed almost 90% similarity to E.coli:confused:.... the template DNA i used is from a pure culture of streptomyces..... whats the reason???? please help....
