| Hi, I am new to the world of chromatin. In my readings, I come across terms like H3K4, H3k27, h3k36, but cannot find what they mean. Can someone help me figure this out or suggest a resource? Also, how does one determine where to investigate on the chromatin - is it by Chip-seq? Thanks. |

| Methylation of histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27) is a posttranslational modification that is highly correlated with genomic silencing. (It is similar with H3K4 OR K36, I think.) | In this case you can also find terms like H3K9me2 - and the 'me2' means dimethylation |
