| Dear Sahi, could you please specify the parameters such as a) how many nucleosomes do you have in your system (ie I am assuming that we are talking about an ideal situation with regularly spaced nucleosomes which can be obtained experimentally by using the Widom 601 sequence) b) what is the DNA linker length (Nucleosome repeat length in other words)? c) the fundamental end-to-end formulation (I can provide a more detailed explanation mathematically if needed) for an idealised freely jointed chain is given by <r^2>^0.5 = N^0.5L where N is the number of segments and L length; this result is related to the concept of random walks in polymer physics. With best wishes, Anna |
