Hi,

I want to check the methylation status of the promoter region of a specific gene but i dont know which kit to use. Any ideas?

Default Re: Detection of DNA methylation

Dear eul,
it depend on what you need. If you want to know the methylation status of some CpG sites you can use simply the MSP (Methylation Specific PCR). Often, if all the CpG site interrogated by MSP are methylated, you can assume that all the CpGs around could be methylated as well. If you want to know the status of all the CpG sites in the promoter region, a solution could be to use a Bisulfite sequencing.

Good luck,
