You need to provide more information. Is the missing side the hypotenuse? Or is 16 the hypotenuse? If the legs of the trinagle are 9 and 16, the hypotenuse is found by the Pythagorean theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2 => c= sqrt(16^2 + 9^2)
