How to increase oxygen in room?

1. Humidifer creates water vapor - can our body break it down into oxygen?

2. Have 2 rooms filled w/ plants - in day time...sleep in one, at night, get eyecover, and sleep in other which has no windows for sunlight to come and has a UV Rays bulb...so plant will think that is day and will convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.(the bulbs are actually healthy for you.)

3. Just buy oxygen tanks: how expensive are they? And is there something medically wrong w/ breathing pure oxygen all the time?

Please add more ideas and answer any of the questions/all of the questions you want.

1. I've never heard of it... We actually produce water and carbon dioxide (among many other substances) as a result of breathing and metabolism. But maybe I don't know something?

2. I think plants have to rest and accumulate substances and use this energy to grow - so they need to switch into using oxygen during the night. I don't think that this will work. Are UV rays healthy for me? I don't think so.

3. The increase in oxygen causes your metabolism to speed up. So you burn calories faster but your cells also get older faster. I think this will also cause peroxides and free radicals to accumulate.

Definitely not! A fair amount of energy is required to break down water - it's what plants do when they photosynthesise!

Very bad idea! Plants use visible light to photosynthesise, so a UV lamp won't help at all. Add to that the effects of UV radiation on cells, as the previous poster said...

Oxygen is actually toxic at too-high concentrations (free radicals etc). Also, i makes the environment dangerous (the three astronauts of Apollo 1 - which used 100% oxygen - were incinerated when there was a small electrical fire. Ironically, if the atmosphere had been normal, the fire would not have caught, and they'd possibly never have noticed it.)

God points swanny. Most do not realize that oxygen is toxic - that much of life on earth was wiped out as it built up after evolution of photosynthesis.

Augment nutrients, artificial light and ventilation instead. The O2 level is unconventionally the rate-limiting agent of plant growth. Finally, sleep elsewhere - your respiration robs the plants of superfluous O2 .
