Question DNA Agarose Gel Electrophoresis

I have a lab course and need to show why DNA on agarose gels is showing multiple bands on gel electrophoresis...

my guess is that there are alternative forms of DNA but need some proof and evidence from papers.

Any ideas or sources?

thanks!
Kiki

hi
ok plamid dna r u seeing is 3 bands if yes then answer is it may exists in 3forms covalently close circular, open circular, supercoiled due to migration u can ableto see the different bands for confirmation do one thing keep it for restriction digestion with one enzyme which is present one time then before dig and after dig u load on the gels u can able to see single band after single dig becoz this enzyme cuts all the molecules so all will be formed as linear molecules and migrate at same speed

ok
