Default DNA Extraction from Horseshoe Crab Blood

I'm currently having problems extracting DNA from horseshoe crab's blood. I have tried several different protocols such as Sambrook's Phenol:Chloroform method, Aljanabi's Salt precipitation method and even tried using a blood extraction kit however none gave any genomic DNA. All I got was only degraded DNA. Could anyone help me in this?

Thank You

Hey ScubaOwl!
I had this problem before. You need to use a good kit such as Wizard Genomic DNA purification, worked great for me.

also are you keeping things on ice? Dnases may be degrading your DNA.

you did horseshoe crab also last time?

most of the time the sample is on ice. the horseshoe crab blood is very different from normal blood and this has cause me to have failures when using the normal blood dna extraction kit i have used.

how bout non-kit protocols?any?
