How does Miniprep Work? I have to tell my supervisor tomorrow and there is no good review papers on it!

Anybody know the process?

Try searching for plasmid DNA isolation.
Look in Molecular Cloning (Maniatis) if you have it handy.

Edited to add: If you use a kit, often the manual for the kit will talk about what's going on -- I'm pretty sure the Qiagen manuals have a short description of the science
