| the selection marker definitely is useful. useful in growing large amounts of bacteria in amplifying your product, but also useful when you want to use the clones for transfection and thus selection in your cultures. |

| some help to add tags to your protein, such as GFP or YFP. makes it way easier to track the proteins, pull down, and even western blot. |
