DNA plasmid extraction kits

What bacterial DNA plasmid extraction kits do you guys recommend? I have used the roche kit for mini-prep and I don't think its the best. What do you think I should try next?

The new Qiagen Mini-preps that turn blue are great. I have used them and they are pretty neat at picking up bad mixing and clumping of cells (this helps you get more DNA I guess)...

however the price is pretty high per kit 100-200$.

I am not sure of anything cheaper. Biocompare usually has good comparisons of kits but sometimes does not show pricing of all items.

What about the brand Wizard? Any comments? Costs RM800+ for 250 preps compared to RM1500 for Qiagen.

I have problem. I tried to culture plasmid from stock, it has SV40 ori (is it low or high copy?) but never got enough yield. I use Invitrogen PureLink Midi Prep. I did Transformation in E. coli Novablue, Novagen; grew very well as expected in LB plate. I did small culture in 5 mL LB medium, 250 rpm, 37C o/n; transferred the culture to larger LB medium about 150 mL, and incubate 250 rpm, 37c, o/n.
I continue to plasmid extraction by this PureLink kit, which I used to use. Usually I don't have any problem at all, but for this STOCK plasmid I always get low concentration plasmid, messy A 260/280, faint-multiple band by electrophoresis. I even tried the whole process from transformation once.
What's wrong with my protocol?? (

Oh yeah, I even tried new-unopened kit.

We use the same. We' ve never had any problems.

Qiagen mini prep is very good and very reliable. Ive had issues with wizzard stuff in the past.
