mtDNA question I have two samples of mtDNA. I need to know, if these two people share the same mother (or at least, descend from the same maternal line). Sequences of HV1 and HV2 showed the following (mutations relate to rCRS): Person A: HV1: identical to rCRS HV2: 263A>G; 315insC Person B: HV1: 16354C>T HV2: 263A>G, 309insCC, 315insC This result would imo exclude the possibility of sharing the same mother, but I'm not quite sure if the the single point mutation in HV1 and the length difference in the C-stretch of HV2 is enough, or if I would have to call that result "inconclusive". Anybody with experience: Help please! |
Re: mtDNA question Sorry for posting this like 5 times. I got an error message everytime i hit "post". If any admin sees this, please feel free to delete all but one of these identical threads. |
