DNA extraction hi all.. is it possible to extract DNA from human blood using trizol reagent? i've been trying dis few times, but there were no visible band when i viewed the agarose gel under UV light. im really freaking out here. surani |
Re: DNA extraction I have been tying too and i have given up because its not working totally but i have been successful to do phenol extraction on the aqueous phase |
Re: DNA extraction Have you been using the original TRI Reagent, or TRI Reagent BD? |
Re: DNA extraction hi hope u r doing well .. iam new here : its successfull extracting DNA using chloroform or Guanidine |
Re: DNA extraction Hi surani, You should try lysing red cells and pelleting the white ones before you add trizol. Here's a recipe for a lysing solution: 10X sol (100 ml) Potassium bicarbonate 1 g Ammonium chloride 8.26 g Disodic EDTA 0.03 g Dist. H2O Autoclave it to sterilize. Light sensitive. 10X sol is stable for a month. Work solution is stable for a day. We use this solution to test for cell viability, so it should work as well for DNA extraction. |
Re: DNA extraction thanx guys.. but i already switch to Qiagen kit. the yield are good now. thanx again. cheers :) |
Re: DNA extraction try Favorgen is as good as Qgen and cheaper :) |
Re: DNA extraction exactly :) |
Re: DNA extraction I SUGGEST TO USE qiagene kit it is excellent and the quality and quantity of extraced DNA is high . Also, its procedure is easy and simple |
