| why most portion of our genome contsist of interons most of which have potential of causing cancer n only small portion of our genome can code for products.if all the interon are excisied, may this process lead the genome non-function or not. |

| well introns have multiple function in genome and most of the cancer are not caused due to introns, many enhancer and silencer sequence are present in the introns that are involved in gene expression regulation. many microRNA are encoded inside the introns that have role in gene regulation. and the major function of introns is the mechanism of alternative splicing, and due to this mechanism we can produce million of protein and we have only 25000 genes. so presence of introns is important for the integrity of the genome. best regards aftab |
