What is the process called in which you amplify the DNA collected from a crime scene and suspects before performing a lab
thanks thats what i thought...

PCR (polymerase chain reaction) is when you amplify the DNA.

DNA fingerprinting is when you assay the DNA samples by digesting them and getting a "finger print" (on the gel).

This test can show if DNA samples match by the finger print, which is the pattern of the bands on the gel.
