 Quick DNA extraction form bacterial culture Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice. I have a project coming up next week in which I will be receiving 2x 96well plates of ~200ul bacterial culture per well (MRS broth) a week for 12 weeks. Due to the high volume, I am hoping to do a quick and dirty DNA extraction prep to give me sufficient DNA to put straight into a PCR to perform IGS PCR sequencing to identify the bacteria (we will have stocked as we go and so I will be able to go back and grow strain if we need more DNA in future, so right now I would just need enough for the initial PCR). I have been looking at QIAGENs DNeasy 96 Blood and Tissue Kit but this is very expensive considering the amount I would need to order. Also I don't think I need such pure DNA, just pure enough to get the IGS region sequenced. Could anyone recommend a product? Thanks so much for any help!  |
