 Extracting enough DNA from COMPOST? Hi My lab is have major issues with extracting DNA from Compost. We are currently using the PowerSoil kit to do the extraction, which seems to give us good gDNA but when I try to PCR it we don't get anything. We've used a 16s Primer and we've found no amplification. Thanks!  |

| Re: Extracting enough DNA from COMPOST? Hi, Similarily to above post I have huge problems with extracting gDNA from compost samples. I have used methods of LaMontage, Howeler and other as well as Cambio PowerMAX soil. When I quantify it on NanoDrop I get quite high concentration and the purity seems to be fine to but I get no band after PCR with general bacterial 16S primers. HELP Shamrock |
