Default Help with compound microscope?

So we were asked to place a very small piece of paper with a printed letter e on it on a glass slide. Then we were instructed to put a drop of water on the paper, place a cover slip, and view the slide under a compound microscope.

While looking through the eyepiece, move your slide right, left, up, down. Describe the direction of movement as seen under the microscope. Explain why your observation is such.

(Please relate this to the relationship between light and lenses. On my part, I think that the letter e would appear inverted. Am I right?)

Thank you very much!
