I have seen many people mouth pipette, especially older folks that have been doing laboratory research for over 10 years.
I have never done it and strongly suggest never to do it, no matter how harmless it may seem.

Was always taught to NOT pipette by mouth whatsoever. Therefore a no from me!

I once worked in a bacteriophage lab, and everyone pipetted by mouth. I followed suit because I wanted to fit in. I wonder if those phages beneficially killed bacteria in my mouth?

Nice experience I pipetted some chemicals by mouth but somehow would never try to pipette suspension of any living microorganisms. Not that chemicals are not harmful, its just...

No, and never seen anybody our generation is smarter than old "back in the 80s" guys! but stickers "no mouth pipetting" are still all over the lab walls
