The history of the universe spans 13.7 billion years. The last third in the text spans 30000 years and the last three lines span the last hundred years. This is more a history of us than of the universe. A lot of it are things the universe doesn't care about.

Very true biopunk. KISS is a good thing sometimes as 13.7 billion years is a long time to study if you only have 80 years (sometimes more if you are lucky)
