Default Science and Pay

Is it just me or does science pay poorly?

I have been studying for 9 years now and I am still in the poverty-line! Almost finished my Ph.D and no money...

Will things change or stay like this?

Hi
the purpose to study science is to get close to the reality and to find out the principles and laws of nature. to get money is what you additionally get from work of science, so as a reward you must not ask that it should pay you a lot, but it is what you make effort in life, there are many way to get money, we can try that, but the basic purpose of science is to gain knowledge and get close to reality and is not to earn money.

Yes I know that is true, although with the grants containing so much money, it is better to get quality students than quantity.

Why hire 15 students when 8 good students is enough?

Pay them well, make them happy and they will generate better data....

I think it is a waiting game. Eventually after many years of loving what you do, you get the money you deserve!
