Default knowledge of Silica gel

[Only registered users see links. ] is the most used desiccant beads in our daily life. it is always a granular, vitreous, porous form of silica made synthetically from sodium silicate. Despite its name, silica gel is a solid. It is a naturally occurring mineral that is purified and processed into either granular or beaded form. As a desiccant, it has an average pore size of 2.4 nanometers and has a strong affinity for water molecules.a granular, vitreous, porous form of silica made synthetically from sodium silicate.

Desiccant [Only registered users see links. ] also can be called as dry silica gel will adsorb up to 40% of its own weight in watervapour. This adsorption efficiency is approximately 35% greater that typical desiccant clays, making desiccant silica gel the preferred choice where weight or efficiency are important factors.
Desiccant silica gel packets may be regenerated by heating it in a microwave oven or letting them stand under the direct heat of the sun for a whole day after absorbing enough moisture and water.
Desiccant silica gel is non-toxic, non-flamable material and can be re-used if re-dried.

Indicating Silica Gel
BLUE SILICA GEL has the appearance of the blue or light blue glass-like particles, according to the shape of particles .It can be divided into spherical ones and block ones. Meanwhile, It has a property of turning pink from blue after absorption.
Blue Silica Gel Application:
1.It is used for moisture absorption and rust proofing when instruments and equipment are placed in obturation conditions, at the same time, according to their own color turning red from blue after the moisture absorption it can indicates ambient humidity directly.
2. Blue silica gel being used with ordinary desiccant silica gel, we can get the desiccant moisture level and judge the relative ambient humidity.
3. It is always used as desiccant silica gel for packaging packaging, it is widely used in precise instruments, leather, shoes, clothing, food, medicine and household appliances, etc.
4. It could be used in Silica Gel Breather as indicator whose color turns blue to pink as it becomes saturated with moisture.
Sizes: 1-3mm、2-4mm、2-5mm、4-8mm.
Packing: 25KG per compound bag.

Orange [Only registered users see links. ] is the indicating silica gel which changes its color from orange to pink or green when it takes up moisture. Its main component is silicon dioxide and it is now rapidly replace blue silica gel because of its non-toxic, odorless, harmless, enviroment safe.

Silica gel for Beer is a kind of non-crystalline micro-porous solid powder, its chemical molecular formula is mSiO2.nH2O, insoluble in water or any other solvent. It is nontoxic, tasteless, it possesses high stability under hot or cold atmosphere and is harmless to human body, mainly used in beer industry.

Toothpaste [Only registered users see links. ], as its name implies, is a silica gel mainly used for toothpaste production. It is in the shape of amorphous powder, which is odorless and insoluble in water and acid. In the process of toothpaste manufacture, the silica gel performs the functions of color changing, thickening, mildew prevention, water adsorption and oil adsorption. The structure and particle size of silicon dioxide can be effectively controlled by adjusting the production conditions. The toothpaste silica gel, which is made according to types of toothpaste, is available in three types: friction type, mixed type and thickening type

[Only registered users see links. ]is the material that is used in litter boxes or trays to absorb urine and moisture from feces. By doing so it helps to reduce any odors. Earlier, cat litter boxes used to be filled by sand, but today a lot more absorbent materials are available on the market. Cat litter generally consists of super absorbent clay minerals, able to absorb their weight in water.
Silica gel cat litter offers improved cat urine odor control. The cat litter has the highest moisture absorbency and when stirred regularly, it only needs to be replaced once a month.

Molecular sieve 3A
K8Na4[(AlO2)12(SiO2)12]·XH2O
A-type crystal structure potassium. It is a kind of aluminosilicate of alkali metal. It can adsorb molecules whose critical diameter is not more than 3.
widely applied in the drying process of natural gas and petroleum gas, especially the advanced drying of gases like petroleum pyrolysis gas, ethylene, propylene, butadiene and acetylene, liquids like ethanol and acetone. In medical treatment and food industry, it can also be used as drying agent. It is also applied in insulating glass.

Molecular sieve 13X
Na86[(AlO2)86(SiO2)106]·XH2O
X-type crystal sodium, a kind of aluminosilicate of alkali metal. Molecular sieve 13X can adsorb molecules whose critical diameter is not more than10
used to dry gas, purify the raw material of air separation equipment (get rid of H2O and CO2 at the same time) and desulfurate from liquid hydrocarbon and natural gas (get rid of H2S and thio -alcohol).
Molecules which can be adsorbed by molecular sieve 3A, 4A and 5A can be adsorbed by 13X. Besides, 13X can adsorb molecule whose diameter is a little less than critical diameter, such as some aromatic hydrocarbon and branched-chain hydrocarbon.
