| A standard solution of potassium dichromate, K2Cr2O7 (MM=294.2/mole) is prepared for dilution.First a stock solution of potassium dicromate is prepared by dissolving 25.00 grams in a total volume of 500.0mL. Second a 5.000mL portion of this stock solution is placed in a flask and diluted to a final volume of 100.0mL. Calculate the molarity of the final solution. |

| 25 gm/294.2 gm/mol = 0.085 moles/0.5L = 0.17 M 5 ml diluted to 100 ml is a 20 fold dilution (100/5 =20) 0.17M/20 = 0.0085 M |
