| I took another look at Chatterjee's organic chemistry book. MF is correct in his opinion that the questions are mostly "mark and copy" type questions, even the ones cited as coming from particular exams. | Allan Adler <[Only registered users see links. ].mit.edu> wrote in message news:<[Only registered users see links. ].mit.edu>... I think you will find Dumas and Victor Meyer method of determining molecular weights of organic compounds in Chatterjee's book in the initial chapters. Did you find how Liebig and Wohler determined the molecular weight of benzaldehyde? If AA remembers I asked in sci.chem about the origin of "styx" numbers and he said he will take a look at Lipscomb's book on boron hydrides. Did you get any hint on the choice of "s,t,y,x" from Lipscomb's book, may be in its footnotes? |
