| Dear All, In our organic synthesis lab, we are frequently performing catalytic hydrogenolysis (for deprotection) using all sorts of palladium on activated carbon. Most of them are from Degussa. They are refered to (in the catalog from Aldrich, for example) as Degussa type E"something" (E101, E1002,...) followed by strange descriptors which appear as follow : NE/W, NO/W, NN/W, YA/W. I did not found any information on the latter, neither from aldrich website nor from Degussa's one. Does anybody can tell what do they mean ? Any chemical or physical importance, or just a catalog number (or patent number, whatsoever) ? Of course this is not of the highest importance, but i'm curious... Thanks. Christophe |
