Default anybody knows mild method to cleave methyl ester?

> not TMSI, AlCl3/SMe2, (n-Bu3Sn)2O.

What's wrong with acid/H2O ? or base/H2O ?
How about Krapcho conditions: DMSO, DMSO/LiCl or DMSO/NaCl.

How about some more details about the more restrictive
parts of your molecules to get some better suggestions.

the molecule is like
RCH=CHC(OTBS)CH(CO2Me)CH=CHPh
Since it is subject to eliminantion or retroaldol. tried LII, when
heated, got very messy result.or BBr3. pig liver esterase proved not
useful, no reaction.
