synthetic alternatives for FBS

Hola, Ill give you my opinion, animal sera complements the formulation of a medium with growth factors, lipids, hormones, and other requierements, for growth. Serum replacements are used in well defined strategies as protein secretion were you need a cleaner extracellular medium, but it has an step of adaptation and the cost of subtitution could increase against a normal serun,moreover now , when a high % of expressed proteins have an specific tag to drive purification. There are some serum replaceemnts in the market as some cellular lines adapted to serum-free medium or protein free media. So your sinthetic serum could be of application depending of the final cost comparing with commmercial animal sera,and the levels of cellular density obtained. Buena suerte for this challenge.

unfortunately most of those high nutrient media have a cruelty (or at least non-"vegetarian") aspect. I recall using a media containing calf brains
