Default When to add ARA-C to cortical neurons?

Hi,

I have started to culture cortical neurons in Neurobasal + B27 (300 000 cells/ml) from the plating day and noticed that ARA-C is toxic to neurons when I add it at 2 uM on 3 DIV as I would do in serum containing medium. When and at which concentration should I use it to reduce astrocyte contamination without affecting neuronal survival?

thanks,
Valérie
