Default T4 cells and vitrogen

Dear all,

I am confused by the function of vitrogen for T4 cells (cancer T4-2 cells derived from the S1 cells), I did not use vitrogen to coat flask as a trial, and I found the cells grew as well as the one with vitrogen.

What is the function of vitrogen? Do the T4 cells lose tumor characteristics without vitrogen?

Thanks.
