| I am culturing 293 cells (from monkey kidney) in DMEM in a 10cm dish. I've probably gone through about 15 passages using identical protocols, but noticed something strange this morning. Two confluent plates from the last split had a pattern of concentric circles (bullseye pattern). Looked at under a microscope the lines of the circles appeared as very low density cells in an otherwise confluent plate. Any idea why these appeared? Thanks, ..dan |

| Could be. I've been using the same bag of about 20 dishes for the past few weeks. Both dishes split from one 293 dish had the same pattern. Another two dishes split from a C2C12 line and put on dishes right afterwards from the same pack did not show the pattern. I looked at cells split from the patterned 293 cells yesterday and the same pattern does not seem to be developing. Thanks, ..d Nick Theodorakis wrote: |
