Default 293 cells on glass cover slips

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to grow some 293 cells on acid washed glass coverslips for IF, but the tend to fall off very easily (even with PBS wash). Is there any way to improve the attachment? Would polylysine or fibronectin coating help? If so, which one would be better?

Thanks!

Hello Walmark,

yes fibronectin or other ECM (extracellular matrix) coated plates would help in keeping your cells stuck on the slides.

Not sure how they would affect your IF though... anyone know this?

cheers
