Cool How Long Cell Storage in -80C Freezer Time?

Hello everyone,
I am freezing aliquots of cells in the -80C freezer.

How long (Months? Years?) can cells be stored in the -80C?

I will be using these cells to run westerns and possibly run on a 2-D gel for phosphorylation analysis.

thanks
Kiki

Default Re: How Long Cell Storage in -80C Freezer Time?

Hi
Well according to my experience at -80 C, The cells can be propagated again if culture them within 6 months. but it also depends on type of freezing media you are using for that, but at -80 it is usually good to use the cells within 6 months.
regards
aftab
