Question Low cell growth

HELP!
I have the big problem with growth of stable line HEK+plasmid (G418,hygromycin) cells that we got from our co-laborators. It wasn't mycoplasme (I've tested).
Do you have some ideas about it?

Red face Re: Low cell growth

"Recommended concentration for the selection of resistant cells is 25-1000 mg/ml. Commonly used concentrations for selection are 200 mg/ml for mammalian cells, 20-200 mg/ml for plant cells & bacteria cells and 200-1000 mg/ml for fungi. Your optimum concentration should be tested experimentally."
from hygromycin.com

Check your plates for cell adhesion, if you have a lot of dead floating cells wash them off and keep the adhered cells, add fresh media. Also try titrating the hygromycin antibiotic from low concentration to higher. Like start low then let them grow overnight, then boost the antibiotic in several steps the next day. By the time you pass cells in 3-4 days you should only have live resistant cells.
