Default Re: Difference Between DNA Replication and cDNA Cloning?

hello there,

the main difference is that DNA replication is a natural process whereas cDNA cloning is a lab based man-made one.

Also, the processes are a little different. In replication, the original cell first has to replicate its DNA, then divide the replicated DNA evenly between the two new cells. Cloning however, is done by putting a foreign piece of DNA with a special information into a usually circular DNA that acts as a carrier. This circular DNA is called a vector, which is a means of transport. The vector allows replication and transfer of the foreign DNA from one living organism to another.

hope this helps you
