Do I need set a salt control group?

Posted 11-22-2008 at 02:47 AM by xhjflying
Hi, I encountered a problem. I want to use betaine hydrochloride in cell culture. But I find that the betaine hydrochloride solution is high acid and need add large amounts of NaOH to adjust the solution to neutral pH. As a result, the culture media which include high concentration of betaine hydrochloride will also contain considerable amount of NaCl. I doubt that high NaCl will affect the experiment. But I am not very sure about this guess. Therefore, I want to know whether I need set a NaCl control treatment? Thanks.
