housekeeping protein

Posted 09-10-2008 at 02:14 AM by JRemi
Hi,

I am trying to compare the phosphorlyation profile in total cell lysates via western blot. Has anyone heard of using ERK as a housekeeping protein to normalize total protein loads? Many people use beta-actin, but this has not been working as one of my samples is negative for beta-actin.

how to analyze the linkage among quantitative traits and genetic markers

Posted 09-07-2008 at 03:56 AM by ammann
Quantitative traits are naturally occurring variation, to some extent, they are difficult to identify. However, now three strategies have been developed to identify the quantitative traits of interest, QTL mapping, association mapping, and selection screening. All of them are related to genetic markers, so can you tell me how to identify a quantitative trait of interest using genetic markers as tools.
