Default Protozoa defense mechanisms

Hi : I am looking for some help in understanding protozoa defense mechanisms. Can anyone tell me whether protozoa use efflux pumps. And besides antigen masking do the cell membrane offer significant protection for them. I am investigating liposomal delivery systems and am wondering if this may adequate in that liposomes are able to pass thru the cell membrane easier. Any help would be appreciated.
