 In a food chain, can a species be both producer and herbivore? So i have to make a food chain and it goes like this: plankton, amphipods, minnows, bass, seagull I have to point out the producer, herbivore and top carnivore. THANKS   |

| in the forest, a hawk or form of cat (tiger, jaguar) is the top of the food chain. A plant is a producer and consumer (in a way). It comsumes light from the sun and uses it as energy/food. |
