How do you know that the catalase reaction is happening due to the enzyme and not just spontaneous decomposing by peroxide?

I think i got down my opinion but just curious to others opinions.

well because the procedure occurs in some certain bacteria as well and without the enzymes they either dont break down peroxide or other processes might be involved in breaking it down..there is no way around it catalase is the enzyme that breaks down peroxide into its unharmful components more like superoxide dismutase does with free radicals to prevent DNA damage

Two things, free energy graph. And the fact that we all know, speed, reactions that need an enzyme normally are or too slow or wrongly equillibrated.
