Default Extraction of glycosaminoglycans from frozen tissue

Hi every one
Does anybody know how to extract GAGs from frozen tissues(Cartilage at -80 ̊C) (for studying with sulfated Glycosaminoglycan Assay kit). Can I use snap-freezing in RIPA buffer using liquid nitrogen after thawing?

Thanks
