 Is my gene list down to chance? Hello All, I apologise in advance for the simplicity of this question: I've used a Venn diagram program to find genes that are common to two datasets containing gene IDs. There are 104 genes in one dataset, and 400 in the other - 15 genes are present in both. My question is a mathematical one; if I were to choose 100 genes from the genome at random, and in a separate trial, pick 400, how many genes would be present in both samples by chance?
