| Greetings! I work with whole genomes, but analyze it gene by gene. In fact, I'm doing some statistics on exons and introns. The question is: in GenBank format, gene location is wider that corresponding CDS. Is the sequence before the first exon considered intron, or it includes promoter and other controlling sequences. The same about the sequence after the last exon. If these sequences are not introns, then how can I extract them from genbank format? Thanks in advance. |
