vegetative bud sequences in ncbi databases

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find out how can I compare a list of probes against a database to see what the frequencies are of probes representing vegetative bud among them??

Does anybody know how to do this?

Do a BLAST with blast [Only registered users see links. ]client [blastcl3 download from ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/blast/network/netblast/ and then parse the result with bioperl. You need PERL for this. Check out PERL [Only registered users see links. ] and tutorial [Only registered users see links. ]to get going. For parsing the results of blast output, follow tutorial at [Only registered users see links. ] .
All this can be automated with Taverna as mentioned in [Only registered users see links. ] .
