Default vegetative bud sequences in ncbi databases

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find out how can I compare a list of probes against a database to see what the frequencies are of probes representing vegetative bud among them??

Does anybody know how to do this?

Thank you.

Do a BLAST with blast NCBI BLAST Courseclient [blastcl3 download from ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/blast/network/netblast/ and then parse the result with bioperl. You need PERL for this. Check out PERL ActiveState - System Error and tutorial Essential Perlto get going. For parsing the results of blast output, follow tutorial at Bptutorial.pl - BioPerl .
All this can be automated with Taverna as mentioned in Computational Biology News: Tutorial: Taverna Workbench .
